Additional (outboard) fuel tank for the Mi-8T helicopter

Additional fuel tanks are designed to increase the flight range of the Mi-8T helicopter. Usually in the cargo compartment you can install one or two of these tanks, which allows you to significantly expand the range of the machine. The tanks are made of AMCA-P aluminum alloy, have a welded structure and are connected to the general fuel system of the helicopter.

Features of installation and operation

• Additional tanks are located in the cargo compartment; if necessary, they can be installed either one at a time or both at once.
• When installing two tanks, they are connected to each other by a common pipeline with a bypass valve.
• Fuel is supplied to the engines from the supply tank using booster pumps, and from additional tanks fuel is pumped into the supply tank by ESP-75 pumps.

Application

Additional tanks are in demand when performing long-distance flights, especially in conditions where there is no possibility of refueling, for example, in mountainous or hard-to-reach areas. Their installation and connection are regulated by the operating instructions for the Mi-8T helicopter.
