General technical information.
The fuel system of the Mi-8T helicopter includes several pumps that supply fuel to the engines and transfer between tanks.
Main characteristics of the booster pump (ETSN-40 / PCR1):
- Type: electric driven centrifugal pump. Mi-8MT/MTV helicopters are equipped with one 463B pump.
- Purpose: supply of fuel from the supply tank to the engines.
- Inlet pressure: 0.4–1.2 kgf/cm².
- Functionality: ESP-40 pumps are looped to ensure uninterrupted supply; If one pump fails, fuel is supplied from the second in the lines of both engines.
Characteristics of the transfer pump (ETSN-75 / ESP-91B):
- Type: electric driven centrifugal pump.
- Quantity: one pump is installed in each external fuel tank.
- Purpose: transferring fuel from external tanks to the supply tank.
- Work control: SD-29A pressure switches monitor the operation of these pumps.
The operation of the entire system is controlled using a light indication in the cockpit and a fuel gauge SKES-2027A.
