GAZ-MM - an upgraded version of the GAZ-AA with a more powerful 50-horsepower GAZ-M engine, reinforced suspension, new steering and cardan shaft.
By the beginning of World War II, there were about 150,000 such vehicles in the ranks of the Red Army.
During the Second World War, a version of the wartime lorry was put into production. Due to the lack of metal, the car received a wooden frame. There were modifications of the truck, in which there were no doors at all, which replaced the canvas rolls. The wings were made of simple roofing iron, the driver's seat was completely wooden, without upholstery, the car did not have a bumper.
The lorry engine could not boast of power, however, due to the low compression ratio, it could run on the lowest grades of fuel with a low octane number.
In total, since 1932, 985 thousand GAZ-AA and GAZ-MM trucks have been produced.
