The aircraft was built at the planning plant of the Osoaviahim in Moscow, at the end of 1937. Due to the delay in the supply of the expected GAZ-11 engine with a capacity of 85 hp. It was installed on it by the British star -shaped Pobjoy “niagara” equal power. Pobjoy "Niagara" was a popular engine for light and experimental aircraft. With this engine, which, however, was 70 kg less than automobile, G-25 had excellent data. With one pilot, the run-up was only 40 m, the landing was 60 m. All pilots piloting the G-25, highly appreciated its flight characteristics.
