Issue of sanitaryGAZ-55 did not stop at GAZ even during the summer bombings during the Battle of Kursk. After the end of the war, bus assembly stopped for a year, but continued in 1946; the last vehicles were assembled in 1950. Post-war cars were assembled by the GZA plant, which appeared on the basis of the former GAZ bus workshop. In total, a little more than 12 thousand GAZ-55 ambulance buses passed through the plant gates.
