A prototype of the 45-mm anti-tank gun was manufactured at Plant No. 8, where it was assigned the factory index 53-K. After factory testing, it was sent to the Scientific Testing Artillery Range. During the tests, which took place from August to September 1937, 897 shots were fired, of which 184 were fired from concrete. The system was also tested with a carriage of 684 kilometers. The 45-mm cannon passed the firing test.
