Construction and chassis: glider of mixed construction (steel pipes, duralumin, wood, canvas). A non-retractable wheeled chassis for working from unpaved strips over 120 meters long was replaced with skis in winter.

Operation: produced in many modifications (including sanitary versions) since 1947. It was actively used in agriculture, aerial photography and as a communications aircraft. More than 3,000 examples were built; some aircraft remain in service in private flying clubs.

The aircraft was equipped with a non-retractable landing gear, which could be replaced with skis for winter operation. The design of the airframe was combined: the fuselage frame was a welded truss made of steel pipes, the front part was sheathed with duralumin, and the tail part was sheathed with canvas; the wing had a wooden frame and fabric covering. Thanks to the low stall speed and powerful wing mechanization, the vehicle could be operated from short unpaved platforms with a length of 120 meters. It was produced in many modifications (including ambulance versions with space for a stretcher) since 1947, and was actively used in agriculture, aerial photography and as a communications aircraft. Production continued until the mid-1960s, with over 3,000 examples built. Currently, individual machines remain in operation in private flying clubs.
