At first a tankT-18 entered not only units of the linear army, but also various educational organizations. Moreover, the vehicles were used not only for training tank crews, but also for processing the interaction of armored vehicles and infantry.
MS-1 received a baptism of fire during the conflict on the East China Railway (ECR). A tank company of ten T-18s was sent to strengthen the Far Eastern Special Army.
T-18s performed well on the battlefield. During the entire battle, no combat losses were recorded. Only three vehicles were damaged by grenades. There is reliable evidence that the MS-1 was used in the defense of Moscow. Moreover, the newest vehicles, according to documentation, were used in February 1942.
