A bit of history
The 76-mm regimental gun of the 1927 model (GAU index - 52-P-353) is a Soviet light regimental gun of 76.2 mm caliber for direct infantry support and cavalry with fire and wheels. It is the first large-scale model of artillery equipment created in the USSR. The gun was in serial production from 1928 to 1943, took an active part in many pre-war armed conflicts with the participation of the USSR, as well as in the Great Patriotic War. A total of about 18,000 guns of this type were produced. Regimental cannons, which were constantly in the combat formations of the infantry and quickly suppressed enemy firing points, enjoyed love and respect from the infantrymen and their own crews; in the soldier's vocabulary they were called "regiments" or affectionately-emotionally "bobby".
