The main gearbox VR-14 is designed to sum up the power of two engines and transfer it to the main rotor shaft and drives of helicopter units.
To ensure flight with one idle engine, as well as in the mode of self-rotation of the main rotor, the gearbox has two freewheels that automatically disconnect one or both engines from the helicopter transmission.
