BM-13N — modification of the combat vehicle of the Guards rocket-propelled mortars of the “Katyusha” type. Index "N" - normalized. It differed in that only American Studebaker US6 trucks, supplied to the USSR under Lend-Lease, were used as chassis. It was the most popular vehicle used for launchers of Guards rocket mortars - during 4 years of the war, out of 3374 vehicle chassis used for mounting launchers of Guards rocket mortars, Studebaker US6s accounted for 1845 - 54.7%.
Produced since 1943. Actively used by the USSR during the Second World War and after it until the relocation of launchers on the ZIS-150 (1948), ZIS-151 (since 1949), ZIL-157 (since 1958) and ZIL-131 chassis ( since 1966).
