Rotating the rotor tends to spin the helicopter fuselage in the opposite direction – to eliminate this phenomenon and designed mounted vertically on the tail boom the tail rotor. The rotational drive of the tail rotor is carried out by means of drive shafts from the gearbox the main rotor gearbox to the tail rotor via the intermediate gear; the propeller pitch is effected by pedals in the cockpit.
